Team Race

Distance = 20km

Embark on a thrilling journey of teamwork and adventure at the 2-Person Team Night Race, a 20km after-dark skiing experience featuring two laps of a captivating 10km course. Join forces with your partner and conquer the starlit trails, as you navigate the enchanting winter landscape together. Your time will be based on the last team member to cross the finish line.

Ignite your sense of adventure at the 10km Individual Night Race – a solo night skiing experience. Navigate the exhilarating 10km course under the moonlit sky, immersing yourself in the enchanting winter scenery as you carve your path through the darkness.

Course

The New Moon Night Race course will start at the American Birkebeiner Trailhead, wind through Birkie Skate and Classic trails, up and down the old Telemark trails that have been rehabilitated, and finish at the American Birkebeiner Trailhead. Headlamps are required, as this is not a lighted course!

Aid Station

There is one aid station at near the start area for participants skiing the 20k team race.

4:30pm-6:00pm: Bib Pick-up at Derksen Family Great Hall

6:00pm: 20k Team Race Start

6:05pm: 10k Individual Race Start

6:30pm: Post Race Party Begins - enjoy a beverage and snacks out by the fire!

6:45pm: 10k Award Ceremony

7:00pm: 20k lap Aid Station Closes

7:45pm: 20k Award Ceremony

8:30pm: Night Race Cut-off

Bib pickup is at the American Birkebeiner Trailhead in the Derksen Family Great Hall on Saturday, January 27 from 9:00am-11:00am and from 4:30-6:00pm. Pick up your race bibs at any time!
